Ramu Chinthala announced his candidacy for GITA President for the year 2012
Dear Friends,
Wish you a very happy new year.
I have been living in Indianapolis for the past nine years with my wife Aparna and we have two wonderful children Akul and Anshul. Living thousands of miles away from our mother land, I sincerely believe that we have become one large extended family and as such I have always loved being involved in the community and help promote our culture and values.
As many of you know, I have been a strong supporter of GITA and during the past few years I have been a part of GITA committee in various roles (volunteer 2006 & 2007, secretary 2009, Treasurer 2010). Over the years, I have also been associated with several other organizations including India Association of Indianapolis (Web Committee 2009 & 2010) and I am proud to have had an opportunity to work with a great group of individuals and help develop and promote strong social and cultural relationships among fellow Telugus via various activities organized by GITA. I have always felt connected with the group and feel that I can help take GITA to even greater heights given an opportunity. Hence, after contemplating with my family and friends, I ve decided to write to you to announce my candidacy for GITA President for the year 2012. While the elections for GITA executive committee 2012 are not scheduled until later part of this year, I wanted to go ahead and announce my plans and express my excitement and enthusiasm at the chance to help GITA develop into a strong social organization.
It would be an exciting and unique opportunity for us as fellow members of GITA, to, in one small but significant way, seize control and build the kind of community we want and the best we can be. As an organization, GITA has come a long way and with your support I strongly believe that the best years are ahead of us.
I have been fortunate to have an opportunity to follow and work with several community leaders over the years, from whom I have learned that we have a tremendous group of individuals and a great talent to be realized. I promise that as a president, it will be my humble responsibility to promote harmony and make GITA a much stronger organization that it can be.
With a note that the New Year brings happiness and prosperity to you and yours, I sign-off, sincerely appealing for your support to elect me as the president of GITA for year 2012.
